Introducing SV On the Brink
We purchased our 2011 Lagoon 450 owner's version April 2016. We named her "On the Brink" at the suggestion of our friend Leigh. We loved the name as it incorporates our name and has so many possibilities. "'On the Brink'... of An Adventure" is our favorite! "'On the Brink'... of Making Memories" is another great one. But, "'On the Brink'... of Being Broke" is the most accurate!
What's Inside
There are three state rooms, one being a Captain's, or master, suite. Each room has a queen-ish size bed and its own head (bathroom) as well as closet and drawer space. The Captain's suite has a little sitting area and desk. The salon is beautiful with big, bright windows and views all around. There is plenty of space for school, relaxing, and meal time. We have a very small washer/dryer combo on board. The galley, also located in the salon area, has a three-burner stove top, oven, microwave, small fridge with freezer, and an additional freezer. There's some cupboard space, but the main storage is under the seating area. There is also a nav station. The salon is one of the reasons we went with a Lagoon. It also has a TV that recedes into one of the cabinets, but currently that area is covered with school books and supplies.
Equipment
She is equipped with two Yanmar 54 hp engines, an 11 kw Onan generator, desalination/water maker, weather radar, AIS, Navnet 3D chart plotter, a hot water heater and A/C! In addition to the mainsail and headsail, we have a gennaker and spinnaker stowed away.
Fun Features
At the bow there are two trampolines. And although they weren't necessarily designed for jumping, the girls love to play there. There's also a seating area just behind the trampolines. Up in front of the fly bridge is a great place to sit and catch some rays. And then there's the cockpit outside the salon for getting out of the sun.
