Welcome to my blog. I document our adventures of sailing, boat school, and family. Hope you enjoy our stories and come back soon!
Steve is our fearless leader and captain of this boat. His dream is what landed us here On the Brink. He can be a little reckless in his search for adventure. I’d say he’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie and has little or no sense of his mortality. He is the blondest Einstein I’ve ever met. He sees things black or white, which probably comes from his days in the Marine Corp, and is learning how to cope with life while being surrounded by estrogen. We love him and are excited to be part of his dream.
Hello! I'm the author of this blog, also the wife, mom, morale officer, teacher, referee, activities director, chef, gopher, and cabin maid to my shipmates. I left a career as a court reporter to home school our girls in preparation for life on a boat. I'm excited about spending time in the sun, swimming in the beautiful water, exploring, and teaching my girls how to care for our world and the people in it.
Saylor is our act now think later girl. She’s the one I credit for my wrinkles and gray hair! She takes after her daddy with a spirit of adventure without fear. I have never met anyone who truly loves life like this little one. She is full of energy and knows no strangers. It’s a rare day to see this face without a smile on it. If you can climb it, she will, and she’d tell you, “That’s what I do!” She also loves to run, swim, and dance. She enjoys reading and that is the only time you’ll see her not moving. It won't be long before she's "Captain."
MJ is our love bug. She loves love and always has a hug and kiss for friends, old and new. She has so much personality and displays it with theatrics that rivals Hollywood’s best. She is my little helper and wants to get in there whenever she can, whether it be making cookies or cleaning toilets. She loves dancing and singing. I often hear her making up little songs as she plays. She keeps me in line and after a rough day will let me know that I need some more of her training on how to be kind.
